. UNIFEM has recently established a database to track violence against women in Afghanistan through the Gender and Justice programme's Elimination of Violence Against Women project .
The database is being developed in collaboration with the Ministry of Women Affairs (MOWA).
The purpose of the database is to more efficiently track cases of violence against women throughout Afghanistan, so that policy and action can better coincide with the reality of the situation in women's lives.
