About Women's Development Centers

As a part of the Community Empowerment and Economic Development programme , UNIFEM supports the establishment of Women's Development Centers (WDC's) at provincial and community levels. Services provided by local NGOs in the WDCs include literacy and health education, income generation workshops, computer skills and English language training. The strategy and approach for outreach to the provinces is detailed in a Memorandum of Understanding signed with the Ministry of Women’s Affairs.
