Projects with the Ministry of Justice

UNIFEM collaborates with the Ministry of Justice in order to ensure that gender mainstreaming occurs within Afghanistan's legal and judicial sector, so that Afghan women are equally represented in the Ministry.

Projects include prison-related issues, law-mapping and cooperation on the Justice Working Group and Technical Assistance Group within the framework of the Afghanistan National Development Strategy (ANDS). more »

Islamic Police Women's Conference

The first ever International Islamic Police Women’s Conference was recently held in Kabul and was a big success. Go to the website for the conference »

Prior to the event, a conference was recently held in Manila, The Phillippines in order to share the experiences of Muslim women from around the world in the participation of local police forces. The conference was partly funded by the Government of Canada and UNIFEM.
