Women's Leadership in Politics

The Women's Leadership in Politics unit focuses on leadership skills, law reform, media relations, key policy areas and peace activities in order to promote women's leadership in Afghan society.

All activities are carried out In cooperation with parliamentarians, provincial council members and civil society.

Resource Centre for Women in Politics

resource centreThe aim of the Resource Centre for Women in Politics (RCWP) is to support, enhance and develop the work of women working in the Wolesi Jirga, Meshrano Jirga, Provincial Councils and civil society organisations (CSOs and NGOs).

By providing much-needed resources, UNIFEM strives to increase the communication capacity, accountability, and expertise of women parliamentarians in Afghanistan. more »

Toolkits for Women's Leadership in Politics

UNIFEM is currently publishing a toolkit series in order to provide relevant information and resources to women in leadership. These toolkits are widely distributed to women parliamentarians and are made available in the Resource Centre.

Women in Peace Building

Recent Leadership Events

Provincial Council Leadership Conference, Manila

Provincial council members from Afghanistan attended a provincial council leadership conference in Manila. At the conference, a plan of action for inclusive leadership was approved, and reports from parliamentarian exchange visits with other countries will soon be available.
