In order to raise awareness in Afghanistan on violence against women, on November 24, 2002, MOWA hosted a landmark even in commemoration of the International Day for the Elimination of Violence Against Women in Kabul, Afghanistan. The event marked the first time in Afghanistan that public declarations have been made that violence against women is no longer acceptable.
