Promoting Women's Participation and Leadership in Religious Activities

On 28 March 2008, UNIFEM, MOWA and the Ministry of Hajj signed a memorandum of understanding to promote women's leadership and participation in religious affairs.

 

This future project will focus on three major components, namely to ...

• implement the Afghanistan Compact benchmarks on women’s leadership and participation in religious affairs;
• strengthen the Ministry of Hajj and Religious Affairs’ Department of Sisters, a gender unit working specifically to promote women's leadership in religious affairs, and
